Piedmont House

Located in West El Paso lies a house that has been filled with mystery and legend. Known as the Piedmont or Witch's house, this residence has a strange aura to it, for good reason. This house has a strange vibe to it, and is rumored to have been the location of various satanic rituals, hence the name. Though it has been abandoned for years, this house is now owned by a local El Paso family and has been restored. There are still people who pass by that claim to see figures looking at them from the property. One particular instance was documented by the El Paso Paranormal Society involving a family who would stop a car on the property just to see if they could spot a ghost. The narrator of that documented story recalled seeing a spectral figure holding a candle looking at them from inside or shadows moving inside. Whether these were ghosts or people squatting in the property back in the day is unknown, but creepy nonetheless.

Patterson House

Located in the same street there is another house that is also filled with mystery and legend, the Patterson house. In the 1950s the house was owned by the Pattersons, a wealthy couple who owned a local photo shop. The couple was well known, but one day they vanished without a trace, never to be seen again. The last person to see the couple, Cecil Ward, saw a friend and competitor with the car, who left him with instructions on how to maintain it. Cecil then called the police, who looked into the home and found no trace of the couple. Some said that the Pattersons were Soviet spies and fled the country, were killed, or were murdered by the mafia but 31 years later a new clue to their disappearance surfaced. A man named Raynaldo Nangaray came forward and revealed that he cleaned pieces of human flesh from a boat that the couple owned. Since he was in the U.S. illegally, he waited a long time to come forward and was mysteriously killed in an auto accident, adding another layer to the mystery already surrounding the disappearance.

These houses are on private property, so please do not break in or traspass.
